My Yugioh GX Adventure (Chazz Princeton)

Kairi stared down at the chess board, looking at it intently.

"Hurry up and make your move." The boy she was playing against snarled.

Kairi suddenly noticed a move that would let her win; She pushed her bishop over, close by his king.

"Check." The boy said, moving his queen over by her king.

"Check Mate." Kairi said, moving her bishop again and trapping his king.

"How'd you do that?" he asked, "you cheat!"

"She didn't cheat!" a girl said. "She's just smart!"

"GUY'S GUY'S COME QUICK!" another boy yelled, the girl and boy Kairi had just been playing scurried over to the T.V, Kairi looked up at it, still sitting at the chess board, there was a man on the T.V with brown hair. He was making some announcement about visiting the orphanage he once lived in.

"Who's that?" Kairi asked when it went to advertisement.

"You dont know who that is!?" a blond girl shouted. "Man so much for being smart! Is all you care about Chess?"

"Yeah stupid head!" a black haired boy yelled. "That's Kaiba that is! He owns a huge company; he even has his own boarding school, its all about Duel Monsters."

"Duel Monsters?"

The whole room started yelling at Kairi, and then a girl walked up to her and held out a card, it had a small dragon on it.

"This is a Duel Monster." She explained, pointing at the card and glaring at her.

"Oh." Kairi said. "So what's the big deal, I'll stick to chess."

"Nobody wants to play you in chess any more, you always win." Some kid called out.

It was true; Kairi had beaten everyone in the orphanage.

"Well, maybe he'll play me." Kairi said pointing to the T.V, The man everyone called Kaiba was back on it.

The room erupted with laughter,

"You are stupid Chess Freak!" A tall boy said, he walked over and knocked all the peaces to the floor.

"My name isn't Chess Freak, or Stupid Head or Chess Girl or ANYTHING LIKE THAT!"

"Then what is your name? Chess Loser?"

"IT'S KAIRI!" Kairi screamed, and then she ran out of the room and into her bed room, baring her face in her pillow and crying.

*They dont know anything* Kairi thought *There all stupid, I dont only play chess, Ill show them, that man will play me, and Ill win, then Ill show all of them.*

*****The Next Day*****

"Everyone, look like you're doing your day to day activities. Where's Kairi? She needs to be playing chess." The headmaster said.

Kairi walked in, rubbing sleep out of her eyes and looking around.

"What's going on?" She asked, holding her Teddy Bear.

"Mr. Kaiba is coming today! Hurry up and sit at the chess board."

Kairi heard a car pull up and the Headmaster squeaked, "He's here!" and then he ran off.

Kairi stood in the same spot, waiting for the Headmaster to walk in with this man; he did about five minutes later and started talking and pointing around.

"Excuse me?" Kairi said, walking up to the guy from T.V and pulling on his jacket, he turned around and gave her a cold look.

"Yes?"

"I was just wondering...If you would play me in a game of chess...No one else will."

"Now now Kairi, Mr. Kaiba has no time for things like that!" the Headmaster said, pushing her away.

"How old are you?" Kaiba asked, looking down at Kairi.

"Ten sir." Kairi said.

"I'll play you." He said, looking down at her. "Where's your board?"

"Just over here Mr. Kaiba sir." The headmaster said, looking perplexed.

*****At the End of the Chess Match*****

Everyone was staring at the board dumbstruck. Kairi looked up into Kaiba's face. He looked just as stunned as everyone else, then he bent his head and his shoulders started shaking, Kairi thought he was crying for a moment, but then he looked up and he was laughing.

"Hmm..." he finally said after he stopped laughing "Very good. You know I played chess when I was here. I beet the man who adopted me as well. Of course, I had stakes for him to adopt me and my brother if he lost..."

"I just wanted someone to play..." Kairi said slowly, she had no intent of being adopted.

"Bring me this girl's papers." Kaiba said to the Headmaster.

"Yes Mr. Kaiba Sir." The headmaster said running off.

Half an Hour later Kairi was sitting in a limo, right next to her adopted father.

"You don't seem much like you'd be my dad. I mean you can't be anymore than ten years older than me."

"I'm eleven years older than you exactly, I looked at your birth papers, and we have the same birthday."

"So what's Duel Monsters?" Kairi asked, looking out the window.

*****Five Years Later*****
Kairi was sitting around in her mansion, just staring at the peace of toast in front of her. She wasn't very hungry, her brother wanted to talk to her, and that was never any good.

"Miss Kaiba?" a voice from behind Kairi, she turned around to see the body guard her brother had hired for her. "Is something bothering you?"

"No Chives." Kairi said, looking at him smiling, "Just not hungry."

"Your father will be here shortly."

Kairi hated it when people called Seto her father. So he technically was but she preferred to call him her brother, since he acted more as a brother to her than a father.

The dining room doors flew open and Seto walked in, in his daily work like cloths.

"Mr. Kaiba sir!" Kairi said, jumping up from your seat and saluting him.

"Sit down Kairi, I don't have time for games, I have a lot of work to do today." He growled

"Yes sir." Kairi said in a defeated tone as she sat back down.

"Well as you know, a few years ago I started a Dueling academy." He explained. "And I am enrolling you in it. Now it's your choice, I could just enroll you and you would start off in an Obelisk dorm and that's that or you could take the entrance duels and get set in a dorm depending on how well you do."

"Obelisk is the highest level, I have never dueled in my life!" Kairi exclaimed. "I'm taking the test, if I have to go that's fine but I don't want people to think I'm something I'm not."

"You have cards, why did you make me buy them for you if you didnt actually want to duel?" Seto snarled.

"They looked cool...I wanted them because everyone else had these decks and I wanted one."

"So I spent all that money getting you grate cards when you weren't really going to do anything with them?"

"Yeah pretty much."

Seto just laughed, it was the first time Kairi had heard him laugh in five years. He looked back up at her and grinned. "Well dueling is like a strategy game, it's a bit like Chess."
Kairi never believed that, it didn't seem a thing like Chess.

"You've explained it to me before." Kairi said. "A lot of times before, I'll go, but I'm taking the test."

"That's fine, they are tomorrow, so find your cards and review which ones you want to use, I have to go to work, are you going to stay here or come to the corp. with me?"

"Stay here." Kairi said she wanted to do a bit of cloths shopping if she was going to go away. "Can I have money to go shopping?"

"I thought you might want some...I just put an envelope on your bed, it has money. And bring Chives with you."

"But Seto, I can go to the mall by myself! Nobody knows you adopted me! No offence Chives."

"Chives doesn't have to follow you around, he just needs to be there, incase."

"Fine." Kairi grumbled, picking up her toast and storming out of the room with it. "HAVE FUN AT WORK!" she called; laughing to herself, the last thing she could call the Corp was fun.

Kairi sighed, walking into her closet, it was such a waist of space, she had one dresser and a whole walk in closet the size of a normal bedroom. Kairi walked over and pulled out her favorite outfit, after putting it on you walked over to your bed and picked up the envelope.(the outfit she put on is the one she's wearing on my sig btw)

"1,000 WOW, someone is feeling very generous today, but that's ok," Kairi said out loud, pocketing the money, she skipped downstairs and called for Chives to hurry up, then she slid on her shoes and ran out to the limo.

The ride was long and boarding, Onslaught the driver stopped about a block away from the mall and Kairi got out and walked the rest of the way, and she pushed open the door to the food court and looked around, nobody stared at her funny when she walked in, she could just imagine what would happen if they knew who she was. But Kairi just walked past all the people eating and headed over to her favorite cloths store, the second she in walked loud music blasted in her ears, she couldn't help but smile. Kairi walked over to the cloths rack and started flipping threw the shirts, trying to find her likes in her size. After Kairi had a few shirts in her hands she spun around, knocking into a boy with brown hair.

"Sorry!" he said, holding out a hand to help Kairi up.

"Its fine, I should have been looking where I was going." Kairi said.

"I'm Jaden by the way." The boy said bending down to pick up the bag he dropped. "Jaden Yuki."

"Kairi" Kairi said picking up her own things, the two of them just stood there for a second looking at each other.

"We'll I'll see you around Jaden." Kairi said, stepping past him to the checkout, after she finished she had only spent about two hundred. Kairi walked out of the store, her arms full of bags, when she spotted a Duel Monsters card shop.

*Seto you loser* She thought, realizing why he had given her so much. *You want me to buy some cards* then she pushed open the door to the shop and walked in, noticing the brown-haired boy talking with a short kid with greenish hair and glasses. Kairi walked up to the very front where she saw a card that caught her eye.

"Thousand Eyes Idol." One man from behind Kairi said. She turned around and came face to face with the shop keeper.

"How much?"

"Well it's not a very strong card...Fifteen."

Kairi remembered hearing something about it, then she thought back to the Relinquished in her deck.

"I'll take it." Kairi said, pulling out the left over money and paying for it, the man took it out of the case and handed it to her.

"What card did you get Kairi?" Jaden asked, walking up to her.

"Thousand Eyes Idol." Kairi said, showing him the card.

"It doesn't do anything..." he said looking at it. "I think you just got ripped off..."

"Oh no, it's a really good card, not on its own, but, well you seem like the dueling type, you can probably find it out."

"Well anyway." Jaden said, still unconvinced. "This is Syrus anyway."

"Hi." Syrus said, holding up a hand.

"Hello!" Kairi said brightly. "Well I need to be going home...See you at the entrance exams?" Kairi asked Jaden.

"Yep, can't wait!" Jaden said excitedly

"I'm so nervous." Kairi said, grinning.

"Why?" he asked, looking at her confused. "It's just another duel."

"My first duel." Kairi said, and then she walked out of the store, leaving Jaden and Syrus looking at her as if she were crazy.

*****At the Exams*****
Kairi stood in a big line, it was moving extremely slowly.

*What's taking so long!* She thought looking around. Eventually she got up there and they handed her a number.

"What's this for?" Kairi asked, looking at it.

"Some people didn't want names announced." The man said. "So we switched to numbers."

"Right..." Kairi said, looking suspiciously at the man, she had a feeling this was Seto's doing.

"Well get a move on." He said. Kairi glared at him and walked into the arena. It was massive; there were seats all around a huge dueling field. There was also a big board; it was counting down to eight o'clock, when the exams started, there were only a few minutes left, sighing, Kairi looked around to see if she could find Jaden, but he was no where in sight, instead she saw the aqua hair and glasses that was Syrus.

"Hi Syrus." Kairi said, walking up to him waving.

"Oh hi Kairi." He said, Kairi could see him start to blush.

"Have you seen Jaden?" Kairi asked, looking around anxiously.

"Nope." He said he looked worried as well. "There are only about thirty seconds left before the first duel starts."

Kairi looked up at the board, it changed from the timer to showing two numbers. 187 VS 23. She glanced down at her number. 187.

"d**n it." Kairi whispered under her breath as she stood up and walked slowly onto the field, a man handed her a Duel Disk and she pulled out her cards and stuffed them in. Kairi glanced nervously at the crowd, she couldnt help but feel bad, here she was with all these people who wanted to get into Seto's school so bad, and she couldn't care less, but she was being forced to go. Right as Kairi turned to the girl she was to be facing she heard someone in the crowd scream.

"OH MY GOD ITS KAIBA!" they shrieked.

Kairi looked to the screaming person and then looked to where they were pointing. Sure enough, there he was, in his own secluded box was Seto. He looked as board and cool as ever, Kairi gave him a weeks smile and was almost positive he had returned it. She then turned back to the girl she was facing.

"You're going down new girl." She said, drawing her first cards.

"We're all new here." Kairi replied calmly.

"Yeah but you just came out of no where, I mean where did you go to school. Do you even know anybody here?"

"Yes." Kairi said, thinking of Seto, Jaden, and Syrus.

"Whatever, you're still going down."

"Probably." Kairi sighed, drawing her cards, she looked down *not good* she thought, Kairi had three spell cards and two level seven monsters. "Well, nothing I can do." she sighed. "Your turn."
